I was lucky to work with Philip during 2019-2021 period when I was a part of Aspiegel Ireland team. While I was focusing on the technical side of HMS, Philip was leading Huawei Mobile Service BD, Marketing and Growth domains in the EU region and we collaborated closely day-to-day.
Philip was personally responsible for bringing Huawei App Gallery to a new level for the region, onboarding multiple partners and app developers to the platform and making those services available for millions of EU end users through AppGallery product. Philip had a personalised approach to every business opportunity, and was instrumental in bringing new partners onboard while at the same time being transparent internally about the progress or any roadblocks thus getting timely support from other teams like engineering or company top management. Philip has strong XFN and collaboration skills which help him to deliver results in a transparent and professional manner, making sure other team’s opinions are heard and considered.
From a personal side Philip is very energized and motivated colleague, who is able to drive any project independently to success or be a part of a bigger team. Philip has been very vocal in company forums and XFN channels by sharing key business updates proactively and in a professional manner. Every time I reached out to him for support he was happy to help and was impressively fast to ‘connect the dots’ in cases where the outcome or ownership was not clear. Working with Philip in Huawei over the course of two years from 2019 to 2021 has been an absolute pleasure and an education. I worked alongside Philip during my twelve-month contract at Huawei as the Site Reliability Engineer for Huawei’s AppGallery; this is Huawei’s app store, which is a key product within Huawei’s mobile services portfolio.
Philip was a tremendous help when I joined Huawei. As the first and longest-serving employee within Huawei’s mobile services division in the company’s European HQ in Dublin, Philip spent a great deal of time helping me, and other new recruits to the Dublin team, to adjust to Huawei’s unique company culture.
